About Dr. Peter Y Milne

A healthcare professional dedicated to restoring comfort, confidence, and real results for everyday skin.

Dr Peter Y. Milne, co-founder of CalScale, is a vascular surgeon, lifelong cyclist, and aviator who understands firsthand the impact that sun, wind, and harsh conditions can have on the skin.

Alongside his wife Dee , also a passionate cyclist and aviator, their shared experiences inspired a practical and deeply personal approach to skincare. When Calmurid cream, widely trusted for its unique combination of Urea and Lactic Acid became unavailable, Peter and Dee recognised the significant gap it left for those who relied on it.

After years of trying alternatives that delivered only superficial results, they set out to create a solution that would genuinely restore moisture and comfort, rather than simply mask the problem. Guided by science and informed by lived experience, Peter collaborated with fellow healthcare professionals to develop CalScale. Proudly Australian-made, it is formulated to gently exfoliate, deeply hydrate, smooth rough skin, and restore natural softness without heaviness or irritation.

The Journey of CalScale

2017-2018

The Search Begins

After Calmurid was discontinued, Dr. Peter Y Milne saw a need for a science-backed moisturiser, that truly relieved dry, rough skin, and set out to create one that worked better.

2018-2021

Research & Development

Working with healthcare experts, he refined a formula using 10% Urea and 5% Lactic Acid for deep hydration and barrier repair without greasiness.

2022

Calscale is Born

After five years of testing, CalScale launched as an Australian-made, dermatologist-inspired moisturiser for dry, rough, and scaly skin.
